In 2022, I was privileged to photograph and document the extraordinary story of two (now locally famous) American Oystercatchers (AMOY), who were banded BK(P/4) and G(EFR).I spent countless hours observing them in the spring when they first began mating rituals, when EFR laid eggs, and when the eggs hatched. I was there as their chicks grew through the dog days of summer, when their three beautiful chicks fledged, and finally, when they left for their migration south.I watched the adults’ loving interaction with each other, then the tender loving care with which they raised their young. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for which I am truly grateful.In the pages of this book, I will tell their incredible story.
